Power Plant Busbar Laboratory

The Energy and Power Industries Laboratory (EPIL), with its extensive experience in testing and diagnosing power plant busbars, has been actively engaged in this field. In addition to being able to conduct certain laboratory tests related to busbars, such as aging tests, EPIL can also perform periodic testing on-site at power plants. Notable power plants such as Dez, Karun, Abbaspoor, Marun, Karkheh, and Soufian have entrusted EPIL with their periodic testing and troubleshooting.

Services Provided by EPIL in this Field:

1. Conducting various types of periodic tests and non-destructive insulation tests on-site, including partial discharge testing, delta tangent testing, insulation resistance measurement, resistance and impedance measurement, etc.
2. Troubleshooting and assessing the health of defective or suspicious busbars.
3.  Providing ancillary services for on-site testing, such as calibration of unit coupling capacitors, etc.
4.  Analyzing results and delivering comprehensive technical reports for use in future periodic testing.
5. Performing thermal and voltage aging tests.
