Insulator and Bushing Laboratory

Insulator and Bushing Laboratory

The Insulator and Bushing Laboratory is a division of the High Voltage Unit of EPIL, capable of conducting various electrical and mechanical tests on different types of insulators and bushings according to standards such as IEC 62217, IEC 61952, IEC 61109, IEC 60383, IEC 60660, and others.

The laboratory can test the following types of equipment:

  • Substation and transmission line insulators (ceramic, glass, and polymer insulators, including pin, suspension, and tension insulators)
  • Resin insulators (various types of low and medium voltage panel insulators)
  • Various bushings (ceramic, polymer, etc.)
  • Specialized insulators and bushings

It is important to note that the laboratory can also conduct specific tests on insulators and bushings, including but not limited to:

  • Salt fog testing
  • Electromechanical testing
  • Partial discharge testing
  • Porosity or dye penetration testing
